Follow these instructions to insure great results

Your application of Permanent Cosmetics and/or Microblading will provide years of enjoyment and beauty. The durability of each procedure will depend on the general health of your skin, the intensity of the pigments selected, and the number of applications. Softer colored permanent cosmetics tend to fade lightly over 3-6 years but usually won’t disappear. The immediate result on the day of application is dramatic and vivid. On the following days, if necessary, lipstick or a light application of concealer or powder will soften the appearance if it appears too intense. Please use new, hypoallergenic, and mineral-based cosmetics while healing. A significant amount of the pigment is lost during the healing period (3-10 days). The intensity and borders of the pigment will also soften daily as the skin tissue heals and returns to its normal thickness. All permanent cosmetic and microblading procedures are considered “permanent”. After the first application, please schedule your follow-up visit within 45-90 days. During the second application, additional adjustments will be made: the shade may be deepened or softened, and shape can be altered. It takes 4-6 weeks before you will see the final color.

Pre-Procedure Instructions

  1. Be prepared for your new permanent cosmetics to be dark and unattractive for 2-5 days.
  2. All facial permanent cosmetic procedures can cause temporary tearing and sinus drainage. If you have particularly sensitive eyes or sinuses, you may take a non-drowsy antihistamine one hour prior to your visit.
  3. Please remove contact lenses before eyeliner procedures and leave them out for the first day.
  4. To diffuse the discomfort associated with this procedure, you may take Tylenol 1 hour before.
  5. To reduce bleeding, avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, alcohol, or caffeine before and the day of your visit.
  6. Please sleep on a clean pillowcase and keep hair off the face the first 2 nights.
  7. If you will be taking a prescribed anti-viral to prevent fever blisters on the lips, please allow our nurse 3 days’ notice to phone in your prescription and follow prescription instructions.

Post-Procedure Instructions and Care

Brows

Your new brows will always seem too dark at first! Expect slight swelling, thin scabbing, and possible redness for 1-2 days. Beginning after the procedure, apply your ointment and disturb the area as little as possible. You may shower as usual; just avoid direct spray and don’t rub your brows. A damp tissue and cold gel compress should be used to soothe and reduce swelling as often as 2-3 times per day for the first 2 days. On the 2nd-5th day, clean the area gently with your fingertips, shower normally with care, and continue to apply a thin layer of provided ointment. Cosmetics may be applied as usual. Color may seem to disappear but will re-bloom during the first month.

Eyeliner

Expect slight swelling and redness for 1-2 days. Small blue or red bruises may occur and should fade quickly. If bruising occurs, you may gently apply new hypoallergenic concealer. Apply a very thin coat of provided ointment AM and PM to eyeliner for the first 3 days. Use cold compresses to reduce swelling. Purchase new mascara and use clean or new eye-makeup applicators. Sometimes a slight itching accompanies healing. Do not rub the eyes during healing; use gentle fingertip pressure or tapping to alleviate itching. Color may seem to disappear but will re-bloom during the first month.

Lipliner

Expect moderate swelling, oozing, light scabbing, and tenderness for 1-3 days. The lips may feel chapped for up to 1 week. The lips will heal rapidly if kept moist. Use provided ointment often for the first 3-5 days, especially at night. You may use a new, un-frosted, moisturizing lipstick or lip balm beginning on the 3rd day. Color may seem to disappear but will re-bloom during the first month.

Areola Restoration

First 2 Days: Apply a thin layer of the provided ointment to keep the area moist. Use a cold compress as needed to reduce swelling. Avoid touching or rubbing.

Day 3-5: Gently wash with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Pat dry and reapply ointment twice daily.

Week 1-2: Light scabbing or peeling is normal. Do not pick or scratch. Continue applying ointment until fully healed.

Avoid: Swimming, tanning, makeup, and direct sun exposure until completely healed.

Note:

Color will soften over the first month. Contact your technician with any concerns.
